Listener Comments

I didn't realize how much I enjoyed listening to WWNO.  I mainly listen during the work day, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  The music is wonderful.  I spent nearly 4 weeks in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, near Jacksonville, and there was nothing comparable to your station.  I am particularly fond of the magnificent piano concertos that are broadcast on your station.

I sincerely thank you and your staff for providing the beautiful music which has become such an important part of my daily ritual.

Please tell James that it is great to hear his voice again.  A long with his day time guys.  Also, please tell Fred, my jazz friend, that I miss him on Saturday night.
Sincerely,
Barbara J

The other day I discovered that the station was audio streaming, so I got to listen for a while today, which one of the best reminders of home I have had in some time.

Give my regards to everyone that is close to you. Keep the faith.

Cheers,
Warren

We are  happy that you are back on the air.  A bright spot in a long day.  Your new programing from Atlanta is a new style which we like.  We like the "mix" of classical, jazz, big band. Keep it up even when you return to New Orleans.

Welcome back. Or welcome there. Or welcome back there. Or welcome there back. Or . . . many happy returns. Every time I get in the car, I've been pressing the WWNO memorial button. How delightful to find it working now! Signal's even better than it was from New Orleans. Love the music blend .. More, more.

Thank you for being here, you are the foundation of what is left of my sanity.

Is WWNO becoming a pop music station. I'm afraid that I'll have to abandon WWNO and listen to internet stations instead.

Welcome back. You're a block of sunlight in an otherwise dreary day. I listen to you in Bridge City on the Westbank.      Dave D

I discovered WWNO was back on the air last night. THANK YOU!! I'm really tired of listening to talk radio and absolutely NEVER want to see another talking head from the [television] . . . . My radio rarely moves from 89.9 and your absence has been quite the challenge for me. Since I did not evacuate for the storm, I opted to replicate "Saturday Night Jazz and Great Classical Music" by playing my own CDs when I fired up the generator. All things aside, your broadcast is bringing things back to normal for me.

Your loyal listener,
Karen M.    -     Harahan

Dear WWNO folks,

I have hesitated to write this because the aftermath of Katrina has been so hard on us all.  However, I must speak out now.  During and after the hurricane, before you began broadcasting, I listened to MS Public Radio from Biloxi and Jackson, and NPR from Baton Rouge.  All those stations have much less music and more discussion and special feature programming.  I just now was hearing a discussion on the rebuilding of NO, from Public Radio in Baton Rouge.   I feel that this programming is very important . . . . Perhaps if there had been more community discussion on your station, New Orleans would have been a stronger and better community prior to Katrina . . . . I like classical music...just not a steady diet of it . . . . I would be happy with local discussion programming and a VARIETY of music with no particular emphasis except excellence.

I missed WWNO terribly while it was off the air and was delighted and comforted Saturday to hear James Arey's voice and the fine music again. I hope you can come back home soon.
