25-Year-Old Accused of Killing 4-Year-Old Nephew

Beauregard Parish Sheriff Ricky Moses says a 25-year-old DeRidder man is accused of stabbing his 4-year-old nephew to death.

Chief Deputy Joe Toler says John W. Hatfield III was booked late Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder.

The sheriff says in a news release that Hatfield was arrested without incident at the home where the child was stabbed in the chest Tuesday afternoon.

He says the boy was flown to a hospital but was dead when he arrived.
