Classical 104.9 Turns One This Weekend!

Classical 104.9 turns ONE this weekend!

Yes, January 27th marks the official First Birthday for Classical 104.9 here in New Orleans.

We are celebrating with a Friday morning full of Mozart's music -- AND, we're giving our listeners a chance to add a lovely Mozart CD to their collection for pledges made to Classical 104.9 during this Birthday Weekend.

Listen, Friday morning, January 26th, from 9am - 1pm, for a musical Mozartapalooza, and then say Happy Birthday to Classical 104.9 with a special birthday pledge at wwno.org/donate.

Weekend Programming:

  • Friday, Jan. 26, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. – Salute to Mozart's birthday weekend, with four hours of Mozart (and Mozartesque) music
  • Friday, Jan. 26, 6-8 p.m. – Two-hour special, hosted by James Arey, dedicated to music by contemporary composers
  • Sunday, Jan. 28, 7-8 p.m. – Mozart's "Requiem" with the Vienna Philharmonic
James served as Classical Music Host and Music Director for WWNO from 1999-2007. He relocated to Atlanta with several WWNO staff members after Katrina, and, in 2007, he accepted a position as Music Director at KVNO in Omaha, Nebraska, where he coached young announcers, programmed, and hosted classical music until 2010.
