State government offices to close in 22 parishes
State government offices across 22 parishes will shut down Tuesday and Wednesday because of Tropical Storm Isaac, expected to grow into a hurricane.
Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater on Monday announced the closures, which cover parishes in the tropical storm warning, hurricane watch and hurricane warning areas.
The parishes include: Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, Jefferson, St. Charles, Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption, St. James, St. John, Ascension, Livingston, Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, Washington, Pointe Coupee, West Feliciana, East Feliciana, St. Helena, Iberville, West Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge parishes.
