The St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center has called a mandatory evacuation for both East and West Bank residents as of 6 p.m. Aug. 26 due to the threat of dangerous storm surge and winds from Tropical Storm Isaac. Jefferson Parish is reminding all Jefferson Parish businesses to review or renew their re‐entry placard inventory, to ensure their staff can return as quickly as possible following an evacuation.

Entergy’s utility companies in Louisiana are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Isaac and are preparing for its potential impact on the City of New Orleans and the state.

Jefferson Parish has declared a State of Emergency in advance of the effect of Tropical Storm Isaac, the parish said in a press release.

Parish President John Young signed the emergency declaration earlier this afternoon, and the parish's Emergency Management office will be closely monitoring the storm, the parish said.

All pump stations requiring manning will be fully staffed for the duration of the storm and its aftermath.
