A professor of history at Tulane University believes that American history can be viewed more adeptly by gathering stories that focus on specific regions of the country. His latest book, The Accidental City, explores the earliest history of New Orleans.

City Park, a former plantation in the heart of New Orleans, hosts a collection of fine art, 600 year-old live oaks, music festivals, and over eleven million visitors each year.
