NPR Music writer and editor Stephen Thompson joins us each week to bring us a new song. This week the track is “Talking Backwards” from the New Jersey band Real Estate. It’s part of their new album due out in March called “Atlas.”
Thompson says the subject of the song might be hard to take, but the quality of the music makes it really enjoyable.
“Nothing makes you feel old quite like young people lamenting their lost youth,” Thompson tells Here & Now’s Robin Young. “But I don’t even mind with this band, in part because the songs are so bright and lovely.”
