As Hurricane Dorian continues to batter the Southeast, President Trump is defending his incorrect statement from earlier this week about the path of the storm.
On Sunday, the President tweeted a warning to Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama that their states “will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated.”
The National Weather Service quickly refuted that claim, but the White House doubled down. By Wednesday, Trump was displaying a new map, this time with a little spur jutting out from the end of the storm’s projected path — seemingly drawn with a black marker — to include Alabama in the forecast.
