Winter Weather Closings And Reopenings

This post will be updated continuously as new information becomes available.

An updated list of closings and reopenings throughout the metro area, as the region comes back to life after inclement winter weather shut down much of Louisiana.

The National Weather Service’s New Orleans office says the temperature will drop below freezing tonight, and icy, dangerous conditions will persist until temperatures rise Thursday morning.

Roads, Bridges and Transportation

Interstate 10:
* All lanes are open on I-10 in both directions on the Highrise Bridge.
* I-10 east and west is open from New Orleans to Baton Rouge.
* I-10 East is now open from the Texas/Louisiana State line to US-61 (Sorrento).
* The Twin Spans are OPEN in both directions, with lane restrictions.

Interstate 55:
* I-55 north reported OPEN in both directions.

Causeway:

OPEN in both directions.

Interstate 12:
* I-12 East is now open from the I-10/12 Junction (Baton Rouge) to the I-10/59 Junction (Slidell).

Interstate 610:
* All lanes are open on the entire span of I-610 in both directions.

Interstate 310:
* All lanes are open on I-310 in both directions between I-10 and US 90.

Jefferson Parish
* All lanes are open on LA 3139, the Earhart Expressway, in both directions from Dickory Ave. to the Jefferson/Orleans parish line.
* The Lapalco Bridge in Harvey has reopened.
* All lanes are open on LA 18 (Harvey Bridge) between LA 3018 and LA 301.
* The elevated Westbank Expressway has reopened.

Lafourche Parish
* Des Allemands Overpass - All Lanes are open
* Jackson Street Bridge, Thibodaux - open
* Hwy 182 North Bridge - open
* Kraemer 307 Bridge - open
* Belle Vue Bridge - open
* LA 20 Schriever Overpass - open
* Rita Bridge - open
* Galliano Pontoon Bridge - open
* LA 308 overpass at Larose - open
* Sanchez Bridge, Choctaw - open
* T-Bois Bridge, Larose - open
* LA 307 Bayou Bouef - open

Orleans Parish
* The Paris Rd. (Green) Bridge is open in both directions.
* Judge Seeber Bridge is open.
* All lanes are open on LA 3139, the Earhart Expressway, in both directions from Dickory Ave. to the Jefferson/Orleans parish line.
* All lanes are open on US 90 (Chef Menteur Highway) East and West at the Danziger Bridge.
* The Ted Hickey Bridge (Seabrook Bridge) is open in both directions.
* Ferry service at Algiers and Chalmette remains suspended.

Jefferson/St. Charles Parishes
* I-10 Bonnet Carré Spillway Bridge is open in the eastbound direction. It remains closed in the westbound direction.

Orleans/St. Tammany Parishes
* I-10 Twin Spans Bridge is closed. (alternate routes are U.S. 90 and U.S. 11)

St. Bernard Parish
* La. 3146/Violet Canal Bridge at La. 39 is open.

Terrebonne Parish

* All roads and bridges are open in Terrebonne Parish.

St. Charles Parish

* All four lanes of the Hale Boggs Bridge are now open.
* I-310 is open in both directions.

Thursday — Government, School and Community Closures by Parish:

Assumption Parish

* Public schools CLOSED

Jefferson Parish:

* Public schools will be OPEN Thursday on a two-hour delay
* Catholic schools will be OPEN on a two-hour delay. There will be no bus service available.
* St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School will be CLOSED due to heating issues.

Orleans Parish:

* Edna Karr CLOSED due to heating issue
* Also CLOSED: Mildred Osborne Charter, ARISE Academy and Lagniappe Academy

* Catholic schools OPEN
* St Michael Special School in the Lower Garden District will be closed

* City Hall and municipal courts resume normal hours
* Garbage and recycling pickup resume normal schedules
* NORD facilities and all Library branches resume normal hours
* Sewerage & Water Board offices are open tomorrow

* Freeze Plan remains in effect. All shelters are open.

St. Bernard Parish:

* Public schools CLOSED

St. James Parish:

* Public schools CLOSED

St. John the Baptist Parish:

* Public schools CLOSED
* Catholic schools CLOSED
* Riverside Academy in Reserve CLOSED

St. Tammany Parish:

* Public schools CLOSED
* Catholic schools CLOSED
* Northlake Christian is CLOSED

Tangipahoa Parish:

* Public schools CLOSED

Washington Parish:(Tues-Wed)
