Slate's Explainer: The Poppy on Blair's Lapel

Slate senior editor Andy Bowers explains why British Prime Minister Tony Blair was wearing a red paper poppy flower on his lapel during his recent visit to the United States. The red poppy symbolizes support for troops overseas, especially those who have been killed or wounded in battle.
