Sugar Bowl Hall of Famer Tinker Owens

Before his four-season career with the New Orleans Saints, Tinker Owens made a splashy local debut in the 1972 Sugar Bowl as a young receiver for the University of Oklahoma. The Sooners shut out Penn State 14–0 and Owens became the first freshman to take home the Most Valuable Player trophy. The Historic New Orleans Collection interviewed him for their series, NOLA Life Stories.
