The Pianist of Willesden Lane performed by Mona Golabek

This week on Inside the Arts, internationally acclaimed American concert pianist Mona Golabek closes Le Petit Theatre's season with The Pianist of Willesden Lane. The play is based on the book, The Children of Willesden Lane by Mona Golabek and Lee Cohen and adapted by Hershey Felder. It is the story of Golabek's mother, a young Jewish pianist whose dreams of a concert debut are upended during the Nazi regime. Mona Golabek performs in our studio.

Then, Uptown, the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts kicks off its annual Art Fair and Open House showcasing work by student artists. Academy vice president Anna Coleman Dunbar stops by for a chat.

And, we get a sneak peek at what you can expect as this year's Bayou Boogaloo Festival gets underway in Mid-City. Festival spokeswoman Karin Curley joins us.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
