Inside The Arts: Satchmo At The Waldorf, They All Axed For You, A Doll’s House-Part 2

Barry Shabaka Henley, actor

This week on Inside the Arts, meet Barry Shabaka Henley. The acclaimed actor and native son returns home, starring in Terry Teachout's one-man, three-character play, Satchmo at the Waldorf. In this season opener at Le Petit Theatre, Henley stars as Louis Armstrong, his manager Joe Glaser and Miles Davis.

Then, Art for Arts' Sake kicks off downtown and in venues along Magazine Street. A show by photographer Sean Yseult might make you do a double take as zoo animals are making appearances at noted tourist stops. Her exhibit, They All Axed for You, is on view at Boyd|Satellite Gallery.

And, Southern Rep opens its new season in a new theater home with Lucas Hnath's, A Doll's House, Part 2. Southern Rep's artistic director Aimee Hayes joins us.

Airs Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m., and Thursdays at 8:35 a.m.
