Jindal Involved in Sunday Afternoon Car Crash

WBRZ-TV

Governor Bobby Jindal and his security detail were involved in a car crash in Baton Rouge at approximately 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, according to WBRZ-TV.

The station said the governor was riding in a black Chevrolet Suburban when a box truck sideswiped his vehicle at Nicholson Drive near Oklahoma Street. Additionally:

A State Trooper, part of the Governor's security detail, was following behind the Governor in another black SUV and crashed into a utility pole on Nicholson Drive, according to State Police.

WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge says the governor was on his way home from his son's soccer game when the truck made an illegal U-turn in front of the vehicles. The trooper who struck the utility pole suffered minor injuries.

The box truck driver was ticketed for an improper turn, and Jindal was not injured, according to the station.
