Join Us For A Prairie Home Companion Listening Party, This Saturday, June 25 In Covington

APM

Join WWNO and Christwood Retirement Community in Covington on Saturday, June 25 for a live listening and video party of Garrison Keillor's second-to-last episode hosting A Prairie Home Companion, from Tanglewood.

It's hard to believe that Garrison's final show as host of A Prairie Home Companion is now less than a month away — and it's true what they say about time flying!

Celebrate one of public radio's biggest icons with Prairie Home door prizes, food, and WWNO staff and fellow fans from 4 to 7 p.m. at Christwood's Atrium Gallery. It's free and open to the public.

We'll start with cocktail hour, from 4 to 5 p.m. with a cash bar, then continue on with the live A Prairie Home Companion listening and video party from 5 to 7 p.m. Hope to see you there!

The show is live from the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood, all the way up in the Berkshires in Lenox, Massachusetts. The DiGiallonardo Sisters join us with their trio of harmonies honed to perfection in Bensonhurst, Heather Masse will sing songs for summer evenings and join the host on a duet or two, and our friend Rob Fisher stops by to offer his encyclopedic knowledge of the American song. Plus: our Royal Academy of Radio Actors, Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Fred Newman; pianist and music director Rich Dworsky leads Jonathan Dresel on drums, bassist Larry Kohut, Richard Kriehn on mandolin and fiddle, and guitarist Chris Siebold; and we’ll get an update on the latest News from Lake Wobegon, where the majesty of a Minnesota summer is in full effect.
