NOLA Tech Week's second annual "unconference" begins on Monday.

NOLA Tech Week begins on Monday. It’s only the second year for the local technology industry conference, which bills itself as a celebration of all things tech in New Orleans.

Organizers of the event call it an “unconference.” They say that allows members of the technology community in New Orleans to set the agenda for the meetings and to host events based on topics they want to hear about.

This year, specific events are still in the planning stage — but some speakers have already been announced. They include Erik Martin, the general manager of Reddit; Jim Letten, an assistant dean of experiential learning at Tulane Law School; and TechCrunch! writer Josh Constine.

The week will also play host to a Voodoo Experience hackathon, called Hack-o-Ween.

Last year, more than 1,000 people attended the very first NOLA tech week. Organizers are expecting a bigger crowd this year.

Tech Week events take place in venues citywide from Oct. 6 to Oct. 11.
