Notes: Tonight’s Hornets/Lakers Matchup

Kobe Bryant looks to capture 30,000 career points tonight. He would become the youngest player (34 years old) to reach this milestone. Wilt Chamberlain was 35 when he scored 30K.

Bryant will be without both Steve Nash (left leg) and Pau Gasol (tendinitis in both knees). However, the Lakers cast stills boasts Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace.

Hornets Beat Bucks At Home, 102-81

The New Orleans Hornets smothered the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at the New Orleans Arena, 102-81, on the back of strong shooting and a momentum that kept building over the course of the game.

The Hornets shot 52%, their second-highest of the season, while the Bucks shot 38.2% and scored only 81 points, a season low.

New Orleans started strong, shooting at almost 60% in the first quarter, and went into the half with a 53-50 lead. The Hornets also finally found their success under the rim, outscoring the Bucks 48-34 in the paint.

Notes For Tonight’s Hornets-Bucks Matchup

Some things to look for tonight in the matchup between the New Orleans Hornets and Milwaukee Bucks. The game tips off tonight at 7 p.m. at the New Orleans Arena.

Guards Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings are the main scorers for Milwaukee. The Bucks average 20% of their points off of turnovers, score 44% of their points in the paint, and are only blocked 3.9 times per game, one of the best in the league.

Thunder Blows Out Hornets, 100-79

The slumping New Orleans Hornets were blown out at home tonight by the Oklahoma City Thunder, 100-79.

This was the second meeting between the Hornets and the Thunder in the last few weeks. Unlike their last contest, when New Orleans allowed OKC to sprint ahead in the first half, they kept within ten points at the half Saturday.
