American Express platinum card owners were in for a shock recently when they learned they’ll no longer have free access to the airport lounges of American Airlines and U.S. Airways, which have now merged.

In a statement, American Express said, “We are disappointed to report that American Airlines and US Airways elected not to renew this benefit.”
