The Academy Award nominations were announced this morning in Beverly Hills.
“American Hustle” was nominated for all the top categories — Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director and Best Picture — for a total of 10 Academy Award nominations.
Alfonso Cuarón’s space odyssey “Gravity” also received ten nominations, including a directing nod for Cuarón.
Right behind “Gravity” and “American Hustle” was “12 Years a Slave” with nine nominations, including Best Actor, Best Director and Best Picture.
However, acting favorites including Robert Redford and Emma Thompson weren’t nominated, and the critically acclaimed film “Inside Llewyn Davis” picked up only two nods.
