“Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me,” a documentary about Broadway icon Elaine Stritch, is being released today in New York City, with other U.S. cities to follow.
The film, directed by Chiemi Karasawa, captures the vivid onstage and offstage life of the Tony Award-winning theater and cabaret legend.
NPR’s Trey Graham reviews the film and discusses the many ways this film breaks the mold of a celebrity, biographical documentary.
