5 L.A. Stories Everyone Should Know About

Los Angeles Times political reporter Seema Mehta says one of the under-the-radar stories in Los Angeles is the heated debate in over a new law that requires chefs and bartenders to wear gloves while preparing food and drinks.

KCRW news anchor Steve Chiotakis says this week’s earthquake in Southern California wasn’t all that big but because it was shallow it was felt by everyone, and most people in L.A. have become fairly complacent about earthquakes because a big one hasn’t been felt in a while.

Mehta and Chiotakis talk with Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson about the L.A. issues that everyone outside L.A. should know about, such as the drought, the exodus of film and TV production and the regulation of the medical marijuana industry.
