Two Russian cosmonauts and an American astronaut reached the International Space Station this week for a 6-month mission.

What’s it like to live in relatively close quarters as their two nations are locked in a dispute over Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine?

NASA astronauts have said they talk about politics “in a friendly way” on the space station.

But space policy expert Howard McCurdy describes life on board the space station as “like a divorced couple trying to live in the same house.”
