Uber And Other Ride-Sharing Services Give Taxis A Run for Their Money

The popularity of Uber, Lyft and other mobile app ride-sharing services is threatening to overtake the taxi system. As protests across European revealed, cab drivers say these app-based services side-skirt regulations, aren’t safe and unfairly drive down prices.

NPR’s Elise Hu tells Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson how these services work and why they’re becoming increasingly valuable.
