Acclaimed Novel 'IQ' Transports Sherlock Holmes To Los Angeles

In his 2016 novel “IQ,” Joe Ide takes the character of Sherlock Holmes and transforms him into a young African-American man, Isaiah Quintabe, solving crimes in East Long Beach, California. The book made a number of best-book-of-the-year lists, including that of New York Times reviewer Janet Maslin.

“IQ” came out in paperback recently and Ide’s follow-up “Righteous” published today. Here & Now‘s Robin Young spoke with the author last year.
