At 88, African American Playwright Adrienne Kennedy Finally Gets Her Due

Often-overlooked African American playwright Adrienne Kennedy turns 88 this year.

Her surreal, fragmented plays grapple with racism and the lack of African American figures in our culture. Kennedy will receive an IDEA Award for Theatre in honor of her lifetime achievements.
