New Orleans, La. – The pressed tin roof is now repaired at St. James AME Church in Mid-City. So are the plaster walls of the sanctuary where Hurricane Katrina dumped several feet of water. Pastor Otto Duncan says it's important to him, as a lifelong member of the congregation that's still recovering from the storm, and it's important for the city.
The national trust with funding from American Express also made repairs to St. Alphonsus center in the Irish Channel, St. Augustine Parish Hall and Odyssey House in Treme, and Lafayette Cemetery Number One in the Garden District.
