New Orleans, La. – Repair crews from the city of Shreveport are trying to stop the flow of waste pouring into Champion Lake at about 4,000 gallons a minute. It's along the same line that broke in July when nine million gallons gushed into the lake. The latest break occurred as power was being restored to a lift station hit by an outage Friday night. Homes are nearby, but the lake is private and not a source of drinking water. As much as three million gallons could spill by the time the break is closed off later this weekend.
