WEDNESDAY: Author Karen Abbott; and Legendary Louisiana Political Consultant Gus Weill

Author Karen Abbott is our guest for the first part of today's show, and she joins us to promote and discuss her latest work Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy. Her book tells the true story of four women (a socialite, a farmgirl, an abolitionist, and a widow) who risked life and death to become spies during the American Civil War. In this gripping true story, Karen Abbott sheds light on the fascinating and courageous roles these women played during the Civil War and the lives they led.

Also, famed and legendary Louisiana Political Consultant Gus Weill joins us for the last two segments to close out today's show. He and Jim start out by discussing the recent beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff at the hands of ISIS, just weeks after the beheading of American journalist James Foley. They also discuss news of the recent disclosure filing submitted to the Senate last Friday listing former Senator's Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and John Breaux (D-La.) as being the main lobbyists for the Russian bank Gazprombank; a bank which has been targeted with sanctions by President Obama over the Ukraine crisis. And, they talk about what Governor Bobby Jindal has been up to lately as he pushes ahead in his goal for the White House.
