In honor of Burn Awareness week, Children’s Hospital hosts first event of its kind

February 6-12 is National Burn Awareness week. Last Saturday, Children’s Hospital New Orleans partnered with the New Orleans Fire Department to hold an event to educate families about fire safety and burn treatment.

Louisiana Considered’s Managing ProducerAlana Schreiber attended the event where she spoke with nurses, firefighters and pediatric burn surgeonDr. Nicole Koprari to learn more about burn awareness and recovery.

Alana Schreiber is the managing producer for the live daily news program, Louisiana Considered. She comes to WWNO from KUNC in Northern Colorado, where she worked as a radio producer for the daily news magazine, Colorado Edition. She has previously interned for Minnesota Public Radio in St. Paul.
