New Orleans Director Of Homeland Security And Emergency Preparedness Booked On Drunk Driving Charges

Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office

Collin Arnold, director of New Orleans Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (NOHSEP) was arrested early Thursday morning on charges of drinking and driving.

According to a city hall spokesperson, at approximately 12:30 a.m, Arnold was driving a city-owned vehicle when he struck another vehicle. The New Orleans Police Department responded to the crash and investigated.

Arnold displayed signs of being intoxicated and refused a breathalyzer test. He was booked around 5 a.m.

The spokesperson said disciplinary action will be taken.

Mayor Latoya Cantrell also issued a statement, saying she last spoke to Arnold at 10 p.m. Wednesday

“I am disappointed by the incident that occurred hours later, and deeply relieved that no one was hurt,” Cantrell said. “We have a strong team at NOHSEP and I am confident they will not let this hinder the great work they continue to do.”
