Cody D. Short is a producer on the Road to Rickwood podcast. She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Tuskegee University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Upon graduation, she moved to Austin, Texas to start a career in software sales. However, she left Texas in 2018 to pursue her dream of working in the media as a journalist.

Jonah Buchanan is a producer on the Road to Rickwood podcast. He was born and raised in San Diego, California and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Berkeley. His undergraduate thesis, which studied an alternative Olympic event ultimately abandoned due to the Spanish Civil War, inspired a lasting interest in the intersection of sports and social movements.

Originally from New Jersey with Bronx and Brooklyn roots, he comes from long, uncompromising lines of Dodgers and Yankees fanatics. While he’s a lifelong fan of the Bronx Bombers…Let’s be honest. Roy Wood Jr. is a comedian, actor, Emmy-nominated documentary producer and former correspondent on the Daily Show. In 2023, he headlined the White House Correspondents Dinner. He's also a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a big baseball fan – he even made it to Game 7 of the 2016 World Series to cheer for the Chicago Cubs. He also played high school baseball at Rickwood Field. Now he has the opportunity to tell this story of this legendary ballpark with a sense of familiarity, engagement and humor.

Alana Schreiber is the creator and executive producer of Road to Rickwood. She’s a lifelong baseball fan who’s been fascinated by the Negro Leagues ever since she did her fourth grade history project on Buck O’Neil. As an NPR reporter and producer, she’s sought out stories about the Negro Leagues all across the country – they’re never hard to find.
