Maurice Ravel: Piano Concerto in G (1931-1932)

Friday morning at 9:00, Classical New Orleans will present a full hour of music from the 1930s.

You'll hear the first orchestral composition by Samuel Barber (1931); an early piano trio by Leonard Bernstein (1937); a famous "sequel" by George Gershwin (1931); and, the Piano Concerto in G by Maurice Ravel (1931-32).

James served as Classical Music Host and Music Director for WWNO from 1999-2007. He relocated to Atlanta with several WWNO staff members after Katrina, and, in 2007, he accepted a position as Music Director at KVNO in Omaha, Nebraska, where he coached young announcers, programmed, and hosted classical music until 2010.
