Auditing 101: When The IRS Comes To Audit

Perhaps more dreaded than doing your taxes each year is the possibility that you might get audited.

Audits are rare — the IRS says fewer than 1 percent of taxpayers were audited last year — and the affluent are more likely to be audited than lower earners.
