With Cases In 8 States, Gerrymandering Faces Major Challenge

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled Monday that the state’s 2011 electoral map was based on Republican partisan gerrymandering that violates the Pennsylvania Constitution. It’s just one of many redistricting cases around the U.S., with litigation in eight states.

Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson speaks with Michael Li (@mcpli), senior counsel for the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, about the cases and what they may mean for the future of elections in the U.S.
