The Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference kicked off this past Saturday in New Orleans, and continues through Wednesday, October 1. On Monday afternoon, a new report called "Navigating to New Shores: Seizing the Future for Sustainable and Resilient U.S. Freshwater Resources" was released at the Morial Convention Center.
The report comes from the Johnson Foundation at Wingspread’s Charting New Waters initiative, and identifies ways to confront the serious water challenges the United States faces. It offers strategies for a sustainable and resilient future threatened by aging infrastructure, pollution and climate change.
Today’s speakers included Dr. Lynn Broaddus, Environment Program Director at The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread, and George Hawkins, General Manager of the Washington D.C. Water and Sewer Authority. This is the final Charting New Waters report after a six-year examination of U.S. freshwater issues.
