Coastal Authority Seeks Input On Local Flood Risk

If you’ve got ideas about how to reduce flooding in your area, the state’s coastal authority wants to hear it. Officials from the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) are hosting four public meetings about flood risk in Lafitte, Houma, Lake Charles and Mandeville.

The CPRA wants public input as it prepares for next year’s revision of the Master Plan for the coast. All four meetings will offer a presentation of the 2017 Master Plan, and local residents will be able weigh in on what has or hasn’t worked in the past.

The CPRA is also looking for input on which flood-prone areas to target first.
