New Orleans Extends Property Tax Payment Deadline

The City of New Orleans has extended the deadline for paying 2014 property taxes to Friday, Feb. 7 due to the closure of City Hall as a result of the winter storm that shut down much of the region this week.

Property owners can make payments in several ways, including in-person, by mail and online:

In person:

Bureau of the Treasury
City Hall, Room 1W40

The City will provide a drop-off lane at the Perdido St. entrance to City Hall on Friday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 7.

By mail (must be postmarked by Feb. 7):

Bureau of the Treasury
P.O. Box 60047
New Orleans, LA  70160-0047

Online:

Property owners can view their bills and pay their taxes by providing the tax bill number at www.nola.gov/pay-taxes — no fee is charged for bank account transfers, but a 2.49% fee will be assessed for debit and credit card payments.

New property owners can find their tax bill number on the New Orleans Assessor’s website: www.orleansassessor.com

Property tax payment questions should be referred to the Bureau of the Treasury at (888) 387-8027.
