Col. Pete Schneider says the bids focus on options for getting rid of the military explosive.  "The proposals will go before a committee made up of members of state agencies and two members of the dialogue committee," he said.  The dialogue committee members are part of a grass roots effort to hold public discussions about the Environmental Protection Agency's original plan for an open tray burn of the materials.

The EPA says it will consider options to the tray burn, which came under heavy criticism by community members about possible health effects from an oen burn.   Schneider says the committee will provide analysis of the bids and hopefully a recommendation will soon be made to address the disposal method.
