During this year’s NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, Louisiana State University didn’t so much as make it past the first round. And teams like Tulane and Xavier didn’t even make it to the bracket. Yet, when fans from across the country gathered at the New Orleans Superdome for last weekend's Final Four, Louisianans still found themselves with something to root for: New Orleans native Caleb Daniels.
But while Daniels holds a starting spot as a shooting guard for the Villanova Wildcats today, just months ago, he wasn’t even permitted to practice more than free throws.
