Moon Landrieu: Coming Of Age In New Orleans

Department of Housing and Urban Development

Moon Landrieu was a political patriarch and New Orleans mayor who reshaped racial politics in the 1970s. Born Maurice Landrieu in 1930, he was raised in a working-class, mixed-race neighborhood in the Carrollton area. Speaking with the Historic New Orleans Collection 15 years ago, Landrieu reminisced about his earliest days. He's the subject of this edition of NOLA Life Stories.
