Bring Your Own Presents: Don't Piss In The Wind

Bring Your Own is a nomadic storytelling series that takes place in unconventional spaces within the New Orleans community. Each month, eight storytellers have eight minutes to respond to a theme. BYO airs on All Things New Orleans and is a biweekly podcast on WWNO.org. More at bringyourownstories.com.

This story was told on October 20th, 2016 at the Radical Arts and Healing Collective, and later produced by Laine Kaplan-Levenson. This event was in partnership with the Fair Housing Action Center, and the theme of the evening was “Uninhabitable". Here, Alejandro Salazar tells of doing recovery work in all types of homes owned by all types of people who usually don' t interact with people like him.
