Louisiana Legislature advances TOPS funding bill

The House Education Committee on Wednesday advanced a bill to update funding for TOPS college scholarships and create a new award for the highest-scoring students.

Representative Ray Garofalo (R-Chalmette) presented his bill to the House Education committee Thursday, March 5th. It would require students on a TOPS scholarship who fail to maintain GPA requirements or drop out of college repay their scholarship.
