  • Adam Vos hosted this Thursday’s episode of Louisiana Considered.
  • Gulf States Newsroom education reporter Aubri Juhasz speaks with New Orleans educators Cheruba Chavez and Emma Merrill about Louisiana’s strict requirements for high school graduation, which make it difficult for students who don’t speak English as a first language to graduate on time.
  • State Reps. Barbara Freiberg (R - Baton Rouge) and Tammy Phelps (D - Shreveport), both on the House Education Committee, give us their thoughts on proposed changes to the standards for teaching kindergarten through eighth grade social studies classes in Louisiana public schools. To view the current draft of social studies standards, view the link on the Louisiana Believes website here. To make a public comment on the standards, fill out the Google Forms sheet here.
Adam is responsible for coordinating WRKF's programming and making sure everything you hear on the radio runs smoothly. He is also the voice of Baton Rouge's local news every afternoon during All Things Considered.
Aubry is a reporter, producer and operations assistant in Baton Rouge.
