The New Orleans Pelicans announced their preseason schedule this week. The Battlin' Birds (have a better nickname for our Aspirational Aves? Share it in the comments below) will play seven preseason games, including two in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center.
The back-to-back home games — against the Houston Rockets on Oct. 14 and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 16 — will take place during the Saints' bye week.
Marquee games will also take place in non-NBA cities, following the NBA's longstanding practice designed to support and expand team fanbases outside franchise cities. The Pelicans will tip-off the preseason with a game against the Miami Heat in Louisville, KY, and will also play in Jacksonville, FL and Bossier City, LA.
