A production at the University of New Orleans was the only play from Louisiana selected to be performed at the prestigious Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
The Times-Picayune reports UNO's production of "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” was selected for this year’s festival.
The play is about a tiger at the Baghdad Zoo in post-invasion Iraq, and his interactions with two American Marines and their Iraqi translator.
It was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2010, and was nominated for three Tony awards the following year.
