Commerce Department Boosting Assistance for International Trade Deals

The World Trade Organization of New Orleans is marking a new partnership with the Commerce Department to help small- and mid-size business expand through international trade.

Undersecretary for International Trade Francisco Sánchez has signed a memorandum of understanding to link business and government contacts.

“If you have a product, whether it’s New Orleans coffee or you have a service and it’s in demand somewhere else in the world, we have trade specialists there who can help you learn what the opportunities are, who might be a good distributor, who might be a good agent. They’re there to help you.”   :

In 20-10, New Orleans led the state’s merchandise exports, with $14 billion-dollars, accounting for 60 percent of Louisiana’s overall exports. Details are available at the “export-dot-gov” website.
