For the first time in its 96-year history, Our Lady of Holy Cross College will offer a doctoral degree.
The program in counseling will start next fall at the college's campus in Algiers.
The Times-Picayune reports it's designed to prepare students to train other counselors and to become supervisors, researchers and practitioners.
Carolyn White, chairwoman of the college's department of counseling and behavioral sciences, said the deadline to apply is Feb. 15. More information is available online at www.olhcc.edu.
