The Katrina Files feature the perspectives of first responders who worked in New Orleans in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Created by The Historic New Orleans Collection with the collaboration of WWNO, the series draws from oral history interviews conducted with members of local, state and federal response agencies. The more than 500 interviews that were done as part of this project form one of the most substantial historical resources on the storm’s painful and chaotic aftermath in New Orleans.
