Mardi Gras: There's An App For That!

In addition to drawing thousands of tourists to New Orleans, Mardi Gras provides a chaotic disruption to residents and visitors. Parade routes, parties and extra people filling up hotels and AirBnBs can make it feel pretty crazy out there.

The digital age is changing some of that. There are now apps for tracking parades, finding transportation, and location apps. This isn't your parent's Mardi Gras.
I spoke with Megan Lindsey of Search Influence, a New Orleans-based social media marketing firm, about some of the most helpful ways to use the new technologies.


Karl Lengel has worked in the lively arts as an actor, announcer, manager, director, administrator and teacher. In broadcast, he has accumulated over two decades of on-air experience and is currently WWNO’s anchor for NPR’s “All Things Considered” and a host for “Louisiana Considered”. He holds a BS in Professional Management from Nova Southeastern University and an MFA in Film and Theatre from the University of New Orleans.
