New Orleans Preparing For Super Bowl XLVII

New Orleans is scrambling to get the city in top shape for the upcoming Super Bowl. A new streetcar line is finishing up near the Superdome where the big game will be held February 3.

Dust and traffic jams are commonplace near the Superdome in the midst of downtown New Orleans. The city is putting down streetcar lines that should connect the Superdome to the French Quarter. They’re hoping the project will be finished before New Orleans plays host to its tenth Super Bowl.

It’s the first since Hurricane Katrina left the city in chaos in 2005. This one lands in the middle of Mardi Gras, which also draws huge crowds to the city, and officials are anxious to show a full recovery from the storm. The city is also renovating the airport, and fixing sidewalks and potholes before the game's kickoff.
